1. The right curtain placement allows you to hide shelves, drawers and hangers.
Many apartments for rent in New York lack closet space. This renter cleverly used this shallow alcove as a wardrobe. The center section, with the draws and the bars connecting to free standing shelves very cleverly makes great – and neat looking – use of that space.
2. Get wardrobes that look built in.
To find this kind of built-in look, look to apartments for rent in Manhattan, in doorman buildings or in prewar buildings.
3. Commercially manufactured wardrobes can look good and be clean and neat.
You gotta love the groovy wallpaper on the headboard wall. But the wardrobe works nicely in this unusual bedroom.
4. Wire system wardrobes can work too, but they don’t have quite the warmth of wood.
I’m not sure what all those doilies on the wall are. This room would look better without them. But the wire basket and wire shelf wardrobe sure works. It will work in most any NYC no fee apartment. It’s Very New York.
