In keeping with our long standing belief that the Upper East Side represents the best value in New York City apartments for rent, we bring you three apartments we haven’t seen in a long time – regular studios renting for well under $1,700 per month.

The Upper East Side, ManhattanIn the past several weeks, we’ve been surveying the landscape for NYC apartments for rent, specifically in Manhattan. The least expensive good apartments in a good neighborhood are located at the tip of Upper Manhattan, in a area called “Inwood”. Inwood is a fabulous place, and the Wikipedia entry for Inwood is rather fascinating. Inwood Park is a star attraction and you should visit it if you’re exploring Manhattan.

But most people looking for Manhattan apartments for rent would rather rent below 96th Street. Below 96th Street, there is a clear winner for the best and most cost-effective no fee apartments; the Upper East Side. If you’re not familiar with the Upper East Side, you’ll want to read Wikipedia’s introduction to that part of NYC.

Take a look at some of the latest offerings that have come in. Of course, all of these apartments are No Fee rentals – Guaranteed.  Search our listings from the form below to see more no fee New York City apartment rentals.

Originally constructed in the early 1900s, buildings like this one became a model of enlightened housing for the urban working class. Back then, things like heat radiators, cross ventilation, hot water, gas ranges,
