In the past several weeks, we’ve been surveying the landscape for NYC apartments for rent, specifically in Manhattan. The least expensive good apartments in a good neighborhood are located at the tip of Upper Manhattan, in a area called “Inwood”. Inwood is a fabulous place, and the Wikipedia entry for Inwood is rather fascinating. Inwood Park is a star attraction and you should visit it if you’re exploring Manhattan.
But most people looking for Manhattan apartments for rent would rather rent below 96th Street. Below 96th Street, there is a clear winner for the best and most cost-effective no fee apartments; the Upper East Side.
