Just over a week ago, we surveyed low end one bedroom rental apartments on the Upper West Side. We found that, unlike much of the rest of the city, rental prices had not declined much since the end of the rental season, which we consider to be September 1.
Since then, a number of readers of this blog have asked us whether we think rental prices have dropped on Upper West Side studios. The answer is; yes, prices are dropping…but. The “but” is that rents on the Upper West Side have recently been so high that, even with some price drops, we still consider Upper West Side studios to be expensive.
There are a few exceptions that we would like to bring to your attention. In addition, since the studio apartments we are featuring are available through RentDirectNewYork.com (RDNY.com) as “no broker fee” apartments, they make sense financially. I want to point out that these are not the cheapest studio rentals on the Upper West Side. These are all apartment rentals that we consider to be good values in the current marketplace.
So if you are looking for a good no fee studio apartment on the Upper West Side, put these apartments at the top of your list:
